EPP Database Project

This is the development site for the EPP Database project, which is funded and managed by the California Division of the State Architect. The goal of the project is to create a free, online EPP database to support the tremendous amount of school construction planned in California over the next decade. The database will serve as a resource for owners, architects, and contractors to find environmentally preferable building products that have been screened against a comprehensive set of environmental, health, and performance criteria.

Through a transparent and comprehensive development process, the State is creating EPP criteria for approximately 20 product categories. These criteria will be formulated into standards against which products will be screened. Those products that conform with the standards will be listed on the database. These are not minimum criteria and will not exclude products from being used in school construction in California. Consistent with the definition of environmentally preferable, listing on the database is voluntary and is meant to differentiate products with excellent environmental performance.

Please see the About page if you are new to this site and want to learn more about the project.
