Email - Roundtable Announcement and Status Update - June 30, 2004
Dear Interested Parties:
Several announcements are contained below, including details on the Industry Roundtable meeting, status of draft specifications, and our new development schedule.
You are invited to participate in an Industry Roundtable on July 27. Details are as follows: DATE: Tuesday, July 27
TIME: 1pm – 4pm (Pacific Time)
WHERE: Executive Dining Room - DGS Headquarters Building – 707 3rd Street, West Sacramento, CA 95605
PURPOSE: An opportunity for industry to provide feedback on how our process has or has not been working and for a diverse set of building product industries to discuss the fundamental technical aspects of the draft specifications
WHO: Representatives from all industries are welcome (in addition to the current categories of composite panels, gypsum panels, and insulation, we anticipate creating specifications for adhesives/sealants, paints, carpet, resilient flooring, acoustical panels, tackable wall panels, engineered wood, ceramic tile, plaster, wood lumber, concrete, cleaning chemicals, casework, and roofing) (this is meant to give context to who should attend the meeting and is not an exhaustive list)
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Please RSVP to gshank@ctgenergetics.com – you can attend in person or call-in to the 800# teleconference number to be provided to those who RSVP
LOGISTICS: This invite is being emailed to everyone who registered on the EPP Database website; the meeting is open and registered persons are encouraged to forward the invite to other potential stakeholders; we recognize the meeting time extends beyond normal business hours in the Eastern U.S., but we believe the time best accommodates those traveling to Sacramento to attend in person
The first public comment period for the draft EPP specification for Fiber-Based Insulation is now closed. Please contact Gregory Shank at the number below if you were unable to submit comments using the online tool.
The next category will be Adhesives & Sealants. Consistent with our target development schedule, we will be sending an outreach package next week to the Adhesives & Sealants Council and manufacturers for whom we have contact information to solicit input.
The Response to Comments documents for the Composite Panels and Gypsum Panels draft specifications are being delayed several more days to enable the team to consider recent developments in indoor air quality testing protocols (namely the agreement reached between administrators of the CA Section 01350 protocol and the CRI Green Label Plus program). We expect the responses to be issued at least 2 weeks prior to the Industry Roundtable meeting.
Finally, we have further refined our target schedule for developing the specifications for each product category. The composite panels, gypsum panels, and fiber-based insulation specifications will not be finalized until after the Industry Roundtable and will effectively receive longer development timeframes because they were the first categories to be developed. All specifications will receive 2 public comment periods, totaling 6 weeks. You can view the target schedule in the “About” section of our website http://www.eppbuildingproducts.org/about/schedule.html
Sincerely,
Gregory Shank
